ROKWOOD, one of EUBIA’s EU funded projects has recently published its Joint Action Plan (JAP). It aims at fostering the production of woody biomass and the cooperation among regional clusters. As the project main policy document, the JAP summarizes the future joint activities, research areas and project ideas aimed at increasing research and technology development. Moreover, it enumerates the necessary market uptake actions and investments in woody biomass production from short rotation plantations (SRP). The document has been drafted by the six clusters participating in the project (Swedish, Brittish, Irish, Spanish, German and Polish). The Joint Action Plant can be downloaded here

The ROKWOOD project is an intiative funded by the Regions of Knowledge call within the context of the 7th Framework Programme. The action will support the cooperation between six European research-driven clusters in order to improve research and technological development (RTD), market uptake and to increase investments in wooden biomass production and utilisation schemes at regional level. The six participating regional clusters will be co-ordinated in order to develop a Joint Action Plan (JAP) at European level to drive economic development through research and technological development activities in the selected topics of sustainable production and efficient use of wooden biomass.
