The LIFE RESILIENT FORESTS project started in November 2018 with a kick-off-meeting organised by the coordinator Universidad Politecnica de Valencia (UPV) in Valencia, Spain. The project aims at developing a Decision Support System (DSS) for forest managers with updated forest management practices and climate change-related issues. Climate change models will be developed and used in three countries Germany, Portugal and Spain. The project will have an important impact on increasing biomass production for bioenergy uses, reduce CO2 emissions, diminish fire hazard and create job opportunities in rural areas. Different organisations such as EUBIA will be collaborating on implementing project’s activities.
