RecOil, one of EUBIA’s EU funded projects has recently launched online Guide. This tool is based on the good practices identified during the project lifetime and offers guidance on the implementation and optimization of Used Cooking Oil (UCO) to biodiesel chain. The guide focuses on UCO collection systems, transformation methods, legal framewrok and several useful tips related to communication, maintenace, safety, promotional campaigns and operators. It shall be a helpful tool for any organization which aim to turn UCO into a resource, such as local or regional authorities, recycling or biofuels companies, NGOs, etc.

RecOil is a project funded by the Intelligent Energy Europe Programme. It aims at increasing sustainable biodiesel production and its local market intake by enhancing the household used cooking oil (UCO) collection and transformation. RecOil will assess the “UCO to biodiesel” chain best practices, through a household survey, the industry expertise, and local / regional authorities’ cooperation, to develop an on-line decision-making guide. This tool will assist stakeholders in developing a chain adjusted to local specificities (geographic, social, economic, legislation, and climate). It will be shared with all the EU interested parties, in order to promote the replication of good practices.
